He attended seventh and eight grades in Amite, Louisiana and high school in Kentwood, Louisiana and later at Southern University Laboratory High School, graduating in 1953. He went on to attend Southern University and A&M College where he graduated in 1956 with a BS degree in Biology. He accepted a research assistantship to attend graduate school at Washington State College (now Washington State University). After two years of doctorial work, he left to fulfill a military obligation, returning to WSC for one semester in 1966 to convert credit earned for the award of a master’s degree in Plant Pathology. Since he elected to remain in the military, he attended the University of Maryland on a part time basis to complete the course work for the PhD but before he could complete his research and thesis, he got transferred to Massachusetts where he enrolled on a part time basis at Babson College (a business school). In 19 77, he graduated from Babson College with an MBA in finance and management. Career Mr. William C. Harrison served in the U.S. Military Service for 20 years achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. During his military service, Colonel Harrison served as Base Commander of a Research Facility; as Coordinator of First US Army for the establishment of four (4) Army NBC Schools supporting the US National Guard & the US Army Reserve in the states of Mississippi, Georgia, Virginia and New York; as a Laboratory Deputy Director for materials development; as a Deputy Commander for Night Vision Systems; as a New Equipment Team Commander (for test & use of state-of-the-art equipment in South Vietnam); as Coordinator for Outsourcing of DOD Biological Agents and Systems; and as In-Country Coordinator for the US National Academy of Sciences Investigation Team on the effects of agent orange on the South Vietnam environment.
